The New Brunswick Writers Group is a community of journalists, novelists, poets, and other wordsmiths in and around the Central New Jersey area. Membership is open to the global community, but the focus of the site is on supporting, critiquing and encouraging writers in the vibrant New Brunswick culture. Registered users are given the ability to create their own blogs, books, stories, pages, forum topics, etc. Essentially, you can build your own portfolio site where other users can read and review your work.

ewwww, words

In my ongoing quest for new ways of self-expression, I came across this awful synonym for "noise": tintinnabulation.  I dare you to use it in prose or a poem without making it sound forced.

This little bit of news fell into my lap recently.  It might be a good opportunity for short fiction writers.  Ginny, I'm looking at you.

A Recent Query Letter

Here is a query letter I used to pitch an article idea to Relix Magazine. I have no idea how to write query letters. Writing the Writer's Resume

Elevated to the Next Level of Nerddom

I'm often amazed by the depths of geekiness to which I can sink when I get the feeling. In an attempt to boost my stunted vocabulary I've replaced my normal bathroom reading material -- Rolling Stone, Swank, Highlights for Kids -- with the American Heritage Dictionary.
